Meet Artist Karen Moore

My journey into stained glass began the way many great stories do — with a “money pit” house project. Faced with a drafty home and a desire to add beauty to our great room skylights, I quickly discovered that commissioning custom stained glass wasn’t in the budget. Determined to make it happen anyway, I asked a friend to teach me.

That first lesson in the Tiffany (copper foil) method sparked something in me. I created my very first piece—and from there, I was hooked.

I went on to design and build two matching skylight panels, along with corner accents, a pendant strip above my kitchen countertops, and countless handmade gifts for friends and family. What started as a practical solution became a true passion.

Over time, I’ve expanded my skills through hands-on experience and self-teaching. In addition to copper foil work, I now create:

• Leaded stained glass
• Transoms and sidelights
• Mosaic designs
• Custom decorative pieces

I’m currently exploring glass fusing and continuing to refine my craft, with a growing focus on detail, design, and originality.
